Why We’re Doing This

  • The core idea behind this initiative is building in public—sharing our journey, challenges, and progress as we grow our company.
  • Many startups and SaaS businesses operate behind a corporate shield; we want to be different—open, real, and transparent.
  • Our goal is to connect with customers, founders, and tech enthusiasts who care about the process, not just the product.

What This Podcast (or Video Series) Will Cover

  • Weekly updates on our company’s progress.
  • Insights into running a VC-funded startup, including the realities of funding, decision-making, and challenges.
  • Discussions on product development, marketing, and sales—with a focus on SaaS.
  • The human side of entrepreneurship—balancing family, business, and personal growth.

Why We Can’t Share Everything

  • While we’re open about most aspects of the business, financial numbers (clients, revenue, etc.) are restricted due to VC information rights.
  • We still plan to share everything else—from vision and strategy to customer experiences and lessons learned.

Company Overview: Meet Masset

  • Our company, Masset, is built to help SaaS companies align their teams around content—so marketing, sales, and leadership can seamlessly access the right resources.
  • Many businesses struggle with disorganized content, outdated files, and misalignment. We’re solving that.
  • The name Masset is still up for debate! Naming a company is hard, and we’re considering a rebrand based on feedback.

Meet the Founders

Benjamin Ard (CEO)

  • Background in digital marketing & content strategy.
  • Passionate about storytelling, content-driven growth, and product-led marketing.
  • Left a high-paying job at a public company to chase this vision.
  • Lives in Utah with his wife and four boys.

Tyler Russell (CTO)

  • Background in computer engineering & data systems.
  • Transitioned from big companies to startups, enjoying the fast-paced challenge of building something from scratch.
  • Obsessed with making content accessible in the right places, especially for SaaS sales and marketing teams.
  • Also a huge sports fan (go BYU!).

🔹 New Website Launch – Our revamped site now tells a better story, includes content-driven pages, and aligns with our mission.
🔹 Customer Growth – New customers onboarded, ongoing customer meetings, and feedback sessions.

  • Added CR3 Raw File support for image handling.
  • Improved UX for bulk editing and content updates.
  • HubSpot Integration in progress—bringing content directly into sales teams’ workflows.
